Real Hair by Clara sponsors the MVSAs..

On Saturday 27 October 2012 Real Hair by Clara were honoured to attend and sponsor the MVSAs...and of course we thought we would tell just just what the event was like:

The 2012 music video and Screen Awards was a blast. The evening saw a host of celebrities browse the red carpet. From the Beautiful Jaye Jacobs and Lorraine Burroughs to the prestigious Rudolf walker. Acts of the evening were spectacular: Our favourite was the 12 year old Hollands got Talent finalist Shauntell Baumgard who definitely stole the show with her violin. A Heart filled tribute to Whitney Houston reduced most of us to tears as Birmingham talent Nya vocalised the timeless I will always love you with passion. With a stunning entrance from Tameka Empson and the host Hugh Quarshie showing off his German Talent in style, The Mvsa's was an award show with a difference.

This was a great night for celebrities and guests to show off their Real Hair by Clara locks and in true style all looked glamorous. Keep posted to find out the latest celebrities to wear Clara's Hair.

Hair comes Winter!

This weekend we have experienced some colder weather, a not so subtle hint to remind us that winter is just around the corner! In the winter months it is not uncommon for your hair to lose moisture as the temperature drops.

To ensure your hair does not become too dry, we and other industry experts recommend for you to deep condition your hair and to ditch the straighteners now and again when they aren't really needed. However, we know the latter is sometimes easier said than done. Therefore we found our top winter hairstyles, using the bun and plait trends, to provide you with alternative options without reaching for the GHD’s:

Top tips to care for your hair extensions!

At Real Hair by Clara we aim to provide high quality hair for every woman every day. We also understand how difficult it is to maintain this high quality due to everyday wear and tear.. Therefore we have devised the following hair care tips to maintain that full, luxurious feel of your hair and extensions alike:

1. Wash your hair carefully: For extensions that are attached to your hair with glue bonds, try and use a shampoo and conditioner that does not contain sulphate. This will ensure the glue remains as strong and effective as possible. When you do wash your extensions brush out all tangles before you head into the shower and gently apply the shampoo and conditioner from top to bottom, moisturizing and rinsing hair well. Extensions lack the oils your hair produces naturally, so you can wait two to three days before each washing.
2. Be careful with heat: Try to leave you hair extensions to dry naturally, but if you lack time dry them using a low-heat hair dryer. Straighteners are known to ruin hair extensions, but as many of us cannot live without our GHD’s it is best to buy a heat protectant.

3. Use the right Hairbrush: Never try to tug at knots or tangles with your hair extensions, this will not only loosen the bonds, but can also damage the hair. Purchase a soft bristled brush for full effect. For glue bonded extensions, tugging at knots pulls on the hair holding the extension, which consequently can cause the hair to snap or break.
4. Avoid knots: If you haven’t guessed already tangles and knots are easily formed with hair extensions but need to be avoided as much as possible. You have no control over this when you are asleep, so loosely tie back your hair each night before bed.

5. Avoid pulling: Sounds like a silly one, but make sure you avoid tugging your extensions, even when drying your hair or tying it up, as it weakens both your natural hair and the glue bonds.

If you have any questions about hair and extension care, please do not hesitate to contact us! We love to answer your questions and provide as much advice as possible.  All products mentioned in the above pointers, such as shampoo, conditioner, heat protectant and soft bristle hair brushes are available to purchase for an extremely reasonable cost on our website: http://www.realhairbyclara.com/hair-care.html
