Why do I need to protect my hair from the sun?
Sun, salt, chlorine and the change in atmosphere can damage your hair and drain it of essential moisture. Like most things, prevention is better than cure, so keeping your hair protected in the sun will save months of getting it back into condition after your holiday.
How does a heat protection spray protect from harmful UV rays?
A heat protection spray will only work if it has a UV filter as it’s the rays that do the damage. However, you can sometimes use the heat of the sun to benefit your hair. Pop on a deep conditioning treatment and enjoy a day in the sun. The heat will allow the hairs cuticles to open up fully and allow the treatment to penetrate deeper. Make sure you rinse off before jumping in the pool!
What styles work best on holiday?
Low maintenance styles work best on holiday. Pony tails are the easiest way to keep your hair back and bang on trend at the moment. From a pony tail, you can change your look by twisting them into low chignons or high top knots, making the whole style very versatile.
What are your top tips for great holiday hair?
Pack – Make sure you pack the essentials for great hair. I would suggest my Holiday Hair range together with a wide tooth comb, some covered bands and a few hair accessories.
Protect – Protect your hair when possible with a UV protection spray, and don’t forget to spray on partings of your scalp! Have fun – hair should reflect how you are feeling, so go for a more carefree style which doesn’t take hours to perfect.
Accessorise – you will probably be a little more daring on holiday with accessories – you might not wear a big flower tucked behind your ear when doing the weekly shop, but it will look great for a summer night out!
